Team Bath seeking an instant response as they return to Welsh capital to face Cardiff Met in BUCS Super Rugby

Team Bath men’s 1st XV will be looking to bounce back from last week’s away defeat to Cardiff RFC when they return to the Welsh capital tonight, this time to play high-fliers Cardiff Met at 6.30pm.

The Fulkers-sponsored Blue & Gold, who are also supported by MJ Church, go into the match six points behind Cardiff Met and in search of their first victory in 2019.

The two teams met last November in what was a brutal contest which saw Cardiff Met narrowly come out on top, despite a double bonus point for Team Bath.

Hugo Stiles moves from his more customary back-three position to fly-half in Alex Burrage’s absence, whilst Bath Academy player Ethan Hutt makes his first start on the right wing. Finn Murphy, who was named in the Ireland Students Squad earlier this week, wears the number 23 shirt and will be looking to make an impact off the bench.

Team Bath back-row talisman Jack Davies makes his return for the Blue & Gold off the back of his recent commitments to Bath Rugby, replacing fellow Welshman and Bath Academy teammate Rhys Davies.

Beck Cutting has been selected for Worcester Warriors this week, meaning Sam Ngeng takes his place on the bench alongside twin brother Simone.

Team Bath starting XV: 15 Will Partington, 14 Ethan Hutt, 13 Alex Nisbett, 12 Will Butt, 11 Brandon Bellamin, 10 Hugo Stiles, 9 Ed Rimmer; 1 Arthur Cordwell, 2 Tom Doughty (c), 3 Austin Hay, 4 Angus Hinton, 5 Adam Thresher, 6 Jack Davies, 7 Chris Barry, 8 Jack Kenningham. Replacements: 16 Sam Ngeng, 17 Jake Buckingham, 18 Simone Ngeng, 19 Cameron Keys, 20 James Hadfield, 21 George Wootten, 22 Will Hughes, 23 Finn Murphy.
