Team Bath seeking to emulate Anniversary Game success when they travel to Cardiff for BUCS Super Rugby return match

Team Bath men’s 1st XV will be looking to draw inspiration from their Anniversary Game success at The Rec when they take on Cardiff University in BUCS Super Rugby for the second time in a month.

The Blue & Gold – sponsored by Fulkers Bailey Russell – travel to the Welsh capital on Wednesday (6pm kick-off) with memories still fresh of their excellent 52-25 victory in front of 6,500 supporters, although they have lost their two matches since then and will be keen for a good response.

Eight of the XV that started at The Rec will line up against Cardiff at Llanrumney, including hooker Jordi den Hartog who scored a hat-trick that night. He is partnered in the front row by Bath Rugby Academy props Arthur Cordwell and Simone Elrick.

Rhys Davies comes in for his first start of the season at tighthead lock alongside Edoardo Balocco and Chris Barry returns at flanker.

Captain Ed Rimmer is partnered at half-back by Tom Pittman, while Max Ojomoh and Alex Nisbet continue at centre. Cal Barrett and Cardiff Blues Academy player Alex Varney return on wings and Ivor Powell Sporting Scholar George Worboys starts at full-back.
