Men’s 1st XV face crunch BUCS Super Rugby trip to Northumbria as U20 duo prepare for Six Nations clashes with England and Wales

Team Bath men’s 1st XV are making the long journey to Newcastle Falcons’ Kingston Park ground today for a crunch BUCS Super Rugby clash against Northumbria (kick-off 7pm).

The Blue & Gold – sponsored by Fulkers Bailey Russell – are currently eighth in the table, six points and two places above tonight’s hosts so both teams will be keen to register an important victory.

Team Bath will also be looking to make amends for defeat in the reverse fixture last month, where Northumbria managed to hold off some late pressure to win 25-23.

There are three changes to the Team Bath side that started last week’s defeat at Loughborough, with Arthur Cordwell and Caley Gray joining Will French in a new-look front row.

Bath Rugby Academy player George Worboys comes in at fly-half for the Blue & Gold, who are also supported by Rengen Developments.

While his Team Bath colleagues are in action at Newcastle, Max Ojomoh will once again be starting for England U20s in their Six Nations match against Scotland in Edinburgh (7.30pm).

Fellow first-year University of Bath student Gwilym Bradley has also been named among the replacements for Wales U20s, whose Six Nation campaign continues in Ireland (7.15pm).

Bath Rugby hooker Tom Dunn, a Sports Performance alumni, is in line to make his long-awaited senior England Rugby debut on Saturday after being named on the bench for the Calcutta Cup showdown against Scotland.
