England U20 internationals among new faces in Team Bath starting XV as they make BUCS Super Rugby away trip to Leeds Beckett

Team Bath men’s 1st XV are heading to Yorkshire today as they take on Leeds Beckett in their first away match of the 2022-23 BUCS Super Rugby season (2pm kick-off).

Both teams are looking to bounce back from opening-day defeats, with Bath Building Society-sponsored Team Bath narrowly being edged out 22-21 by Cardiff while Leeds Beckett lost 31-15 to newly-promoted Nottingham.

Team Bath have shuffled the starting XV with eight players coming in for their first starts of the new campaign including the front three of Archie Stanley, Archie Griffin and England U20 hooker Jasper Spandler.

Santander Sporting Scholar Ethan Staddon, another England U20 player, also comes into the pack, while Elis Horgan and Sam Harris forge a new half-back partnership. There’s a first BUCS Super Rugby appearance for centre Ludo Kolade, fresh from making his debut for Harlequins in the Premiership Rugby Cup against Saracens, and Sam Mercer starts on the wing.

Don’t forget that Team Bath will be returning to The Rec for the first time in three years on Wednesday 26th October (6.30pm) as they face reigning champions Durham in the Rengen-sponsored Anniversary Game. Click here to register for free tickets.
