Team Bath looking to build on encouraging away win as they head to Hartpury for first West Country derby of BUCS Super Rugby season

Team Bath men’s 1st XV are back on the road on Wednesday as they make the short journey to Gloucester to face West Country rivals Hartpury in their latest BUCS Super Rugby match (6.30pm kick-off).

Both teams have won one and lost one of their opening matches, with Bath Building Society-sponsored Team Bath recording an impressive 24-5 victory at Leeds Beckett last week while Hartpury slipped to a 29-14 home defeat against defending champions Durham.

Team Bath stick with the same pack that started the Leeds Beckett match but have shuffled the backs with Sam Kennaugh and James Pavey coming into the starting XV, Sam Mercer switching wings and Bath Rugby Academy player Bryon Gilmour moving to full-back.

Team Bath starting XV: 1 Archie Stanley, 2 Jasper Spandler, 3 Archie Griffin, 4 Eddie Erskine, 5 Tom Berry, 6 Tom Williams (c), 7 Ethan Staddon, 8 George Doel; 9 Elis Horgan, 10 Sam Harris, 11 Sam Mercer, 12 Sam Kennaugh, 13 Alfie Garside (c), 14 James Pavey, 15 Byron Gilmour. Replacements: 16 George Stuttard, 17 Scott Kirk, 18 Zak Giannini, 19 Mackenzie Graham, 20 Lachlan McGrigor, 21 Archie Friend. 22 Freddie Longley, 23 Kit Evans.
