New venue and kick-off time for Team Bath’s BUCS Super Rugby derby against Hartpury due to frozen pitch
Team Bath’s BUCS Super Rugby match against Hartpury on Friday 27th January has been switched to Dings Crusaders RFC in Bristol due to the freezing weather conditions.
The West Country derby will now kick-off at 3.15pm on the artificial surface at Shaftesbury Park in Frenchay, which also hosted Team Bath’s last match before the Christmas break – a 35-22 win over Leeds Beckett.
The decision to move the game was taken following a pitch inspection today (Wednesday) at the Team Bath Sports Training Village, where temperatures have rarely got above freezing during the past 10 days.
It is the first game of 2023 for both sides, with Bath Building Society-sponsored Team Bath – sitting second in the table – looking to complete a rare league double over their local rivals following a 27-19 win at Hartpury back in October.
