Four students and six alumni among University of Bath representation for Premiership Rugby Cup derby between Bath and Gloucester

Fresh from scoring a BUCS Super Rugby hat-trick for the University of Bath men’s 1st XV, sporting scholar George Worboys will start for a youthful Bath Rugby side in tonight’s Premiership Rugby Cup derby at Gloucester (7.45pm).

There could also be a senior Bath Rugby debut for England U20 international Tom Carr-Smith, who produced a memorable assist while partnering Worboys in the Team Bath half-back pairing during last week’s narrow defeat to Exeter.

Ivor Powell Sporting Scholar Worboys and Carr-Smith, who study Sports Performance and Management respectively, are joined in the match-day 23 by fellow students Max Ojomoh (Business Administration) and Josh Dingley (Sports Performance).

Several University alumni have also been selected including hooker Tom Dunn, who will captain the team and is joined in the front row by fellow graduates Arthur Cordwell and Kieran Verden. Will Butt and Darren Atkins line-up in the backs.

Another alumnus, Luke Charteris, is assistant to former Team Bath coach Mark Lilley, who will lead the side during their Premiership Rugby Cup campaign, while graduate Freddie Clarke is in the Gloucester starting XV.
