General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Personal data
All personal data is collected and stored in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.
We collect the following data:
- clickstream data (the type of computer and browsing software you use, the address of the website from which you linked, etc)
- HTTP protocol elements (your server address and top level domain name – like .com or .gov – date and time of visit, etc)
- search terms
We use this data for:
- completion and support of the current activity
- website and system administration
- research and development
We collect this data from all web users. We only use web access logs for statistical purposes, for example, to measure the use and performance of the site. The only exception is if there is a security breach and we could use them to trace the breach.
We do not give or sell any information gathered from web logs to any third party.
We only use any personal information that you provide to us for the purpose stated at the time we request it. We do not disclose this information to a third party unless you authorise it or as otherwise permitted by the Data Protection Act.
Request personal information
You can obtain copies of information that the University holds about you by submitting a Subject Access Request to the Data Protection team.

Cookies can be used to provide you with tailored information from a website. They can enable communication and interaction with the site.
