Team Bath BUCS Super Rugby freshers Eddie Erskine and Louie Hennessey earn U20 Six Nations call-ups with Scotland and Wales

Two more Team Bath BUCS Super Rugby players are in line to compete in this year’s U20 Men’s Six Nations after Scotland and Wales confirmed their 2023 squads.

Centre Louie Hennessey (right in picture) only made his Wales U18 debut last summer but is making the step up to U20 level after impressing in his first season with Team Bath and Bath Rugby Academy.

Fellow Sports Performance fresher Eddie Erskine, who plays in the second row, could make his first appearance at international level after being selected in the Scotland squad.

Aaron James, Head of Rugby at the University of Bath, said: “Well done to Louie and Eddie, it’s great to see their hard work get this reward. Both have settled in quickly to the University rugby club and made good contributions so far this season. This international experience will be another important part of their development.”

Their call-ups mean that four members of the Bath Building Society-sponsored Team Bath squad could be in action at the Six Nations following Josh Dingley and Sam Harris’s selections for England U20s.

The opening round of fixtures take place on Friday 3rd February, with England facing Scotland and Wales playing host to Ireland (both 7pm).
