Bath BUCS Super Rugby standout performers named in England Students squad for Le Crunch against France Universities

Iwan Price-Thomas and Will Jeanes have continued an excellent season of international representation for the University of Bath Rugby Club by being named in the England Students squad for their annual match against France Universities.

The 2024 edition of Le Crunch is taking place at Coventry Rugby Club on Saturday 4th May (4pm) and England will be looking to secure a third consecutive victory in the fixture that marks the end of the university rugby season.

Both Price-Thomas, who plays full-back and wing, and second-row Jeanes have been regular starters for the Bath Building Society-sponsored men’s 1st XV during the 2023-24 BUCS Super Rugby season, producing impressive and consistent performances that helped Bath achieve a top-five finish and reach the semi-finals of the National Championships knockout competition.

A host of Bath players have represented England Students in recent years, including Bath Rugby hooker Tom Dunn and Harlequins Premiership-title winner Jack Kenningham. England U20 hooker Jasper Spandler was a member of the team that won in France last season for the first time in 17 years.

Price-Thomas and Jeanes are the latest current University of Bath students to earn international call-ups this season. Archie Griffin, Jenny Hesketh and Mollie Wilkinson all made their senior Wales debuts in the Guinness Six Nations; Max Ojomoh played for England A; Austin Emens earned a first GB Rugby Sevens call-up; and there were U20 Six Nations appearances for Scott Kirk and Billy Sela (England), Ludo Kolade and Murdoch Lock (Scotland), and Ieuan Davies and Louis Hennessey (Wales).
