Strong second-half display secures another win for in-form Bath against battling Leeds Beckett in BUCS Super Rugby

A dominant second-half display saw the University of Bath men’s 1st XV win 37-19 at Leeds Beckett to continue their impressive start to the 2024-25 BUCS Super Rugby season.

The visitors got off to a slow start in Yorkshire, conceding a converted try inside the opening two minutes, but they quickly replied in kind through Will Keylock and Will Roue before debutant Freddy Rossigneux touched down to put Bath 12-7 up.

Back came Leeds with a second converted try to lead 14-12 at the break but a Claudius Wheeler try restored Bath’s advantage in the 46th minute and Roue added the extras.

A second try from Keylock stretched Bath’s lead to 10 points but battling Beckett halved the deficit with a try of their own.

Two Roue penalties settled any Bath nerves and they wrapped up the points with a fifth try from Kit Evans, Roue’s conversion completing the scoring.

Bath, sponsored by Bath Building Society and Rengen, now have a two-week break before they welcome Swansea to the Team Bath Sports Training Village on Wednesday 13th November. Kick-off is 6.30pm and entry is free.
