England captain Connor Treacey leads by example as nine University of Bath students take to field in U20 Men’s Six Nations 2026
Nine University of Bath students represented their countries during the U20 Men’s Six Nations 2026, gaining invaluable international experience ahead of this summer’s Junior World Championship in Georgia.
Captain Connor Treacey (pictured top) and Aiden Ainsworth-Cave played all five games for England, who finished third overall. They were joined in the pack for the final two matches, against Italy and France, by Tate Williams who, like Ainsworth-Cave, is supported by a Hudson Powell sporting scholarship.
Winger Tyler Offiah made four appearances, starting the last three matches – and scoring against France – after coming on as a replacement for fellow student Sam Winters in the 33-17 victory over Scotland.
Number 8 Treacey, who studies Sport Management and Coaching, led by example as he scored tries against Scotland and Ireland. His total of 21 for most defenders beaten was the joint highest in the competition and he made the most post contact metres (90) of any player, while he ranked second in most carries (60) and most successful tackles (71).
Treacey, Ainsworth-Cave and Offiah were appearing in their second U20 Six Nations, as was Enoch Opoku-Gyamfi who made another three starts for Italy.
Three students made their U20 debuts for Wales. Hooker Oscar Thomas made three appearances, as did Alex Ridgway from the bench, and Luc Anfield was introduced as a replacement against Scotland.
Before heading off on international duty, all nine students played prominent roles for the University of Bath men’s 1st XV during the first half of their 2025-26 BUCS Super Rugby title-winning campaign.
They will be available for the BSR Milk Championship knockout competition, which begins on Wednesday 25th March when Bath entertain Cardiff on the 3G Pitch at the Team Bath Sports Training Village (6.30pm kick-off). Click here to register for free tickets.
