Four more University of Bath students join Bath Rugby scholar programme ahead of 2026-27 BUCS Super Rugby season

Four students who helped the University of Bath win a BUCS Super Rugby league and cup double last season have joined the Bath Rugby scholar programme ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Prop Jacob Yates, utility back Rocky Prowse (both Sports Performance), second row Isaac Sprenger (Accounting and Finance) and back row Will Keylock (International Development with Economics) will combine their university studies with professional-level training at Bath Rugby’s Farleigh House training ground.

The quartet join existing scholars Theo Malik, Cam Ward, Evan Gallagher, James Maloney, Fred Kempton, Henry Mountford, Tom Hilton and Harry Walker on the programme.

Four 2025-26 scholars – Alfie Griffin, Rory McKnight, Isaac Mears and Claudius Wheeler – have made the transition into the Bath Rugby Senior Academy for the new season.

McKnight and Mears are both going into the second year of their University degrees, Economics with Politics and Sports Management & Coaching respectively, while props Griffin and Wheeler both graduated this summer.

The University of Bath BUCS Super Rugby programme is sponsored by Bath Building Society and Rengen.
