Sporting scholar Beck Cutting graduates to Worcester Warriors RFC senior squad for 2020-21 Premiership Rugby season

University of Bath sporting scholar Beck Cutting has been promoted to the Worcester Warriors RFC senior squad for the 2020-21 Premiership Rugby season.

The Sport & Social Sciences student, who is supported by a Trendell Sporting Scholarship, has already made several senior appearances for Warriors while part of their Senior Academy squad including this season’s Premiership Rugby Cup fixtures against Exeter Chiefs and Leicester Tigers.

Hooker Cutting, who has represented England at U20 level, has also gained experience with Bishop’s Stortford, Hartpury, Birmingham Moseley and Jersey Reds in recent seasons, as well as represent Team Bath men’s 1st XV in the national BUCS Super Rugby competition.

He is the fifth member of the Warriors Academy to graduate to the senior squad in recent weeks and told the club’s official website: “It’s been amazing being on the journey with boys you’ve grown up with and shared a lot of your rugby experiences with. It’s been a wicked experience and I’m excited to progress.”

Warriors Director of Rugby Alan Solomons added: “Beck is a terrific young prospect – a superb footballer who has the physical attributes to make it as a hooker at top level. I believe that joining the senior ranks as a full-time professional will see him take huge strides in his game.

“I have no doubt that he will play a big role in the future of the club and I look forward to working with him.”
