Beck Cutting and Zack Henry make Premiership Rugby debuts while fellow alumnus Tom Dunn bags two tries for Bath on sport’s return

University of Bath student Beck Cutting and alumnus Zack Henry both made their Premiership Rugby debuts as the 2020-21 season resumed following the Coronavirus shutdown.

England U20 hooker Cutting, who studies Sport Management & Coaching and is supported by a Trendell Sporting Scholarship, came off the bench for Worcester Warriors and played the last 25 minutes of their home defeat to Gloucester Rugby.

Cutting, who has represented Team Bath in BUCS Super Rugby, was promoted to the Warriors’ senior squad from the Academy this summer.

Sport & Exercise Science graduate Henry, meanwhile, also came off the bench for Leicester Tigers in their 26-13 defeat at Exeter Chiefs on Saturday, replacing George Worth at full-back for the final 15 minutes.

It was a first appearance in the top flight for Henry, who joined Tigers this summer following a successful four-year spell in France following his graduation from the University of Bath in 2016.

The Chiefs match was also a significant occasion for fellow alumnus and University of Bath Hall of Fame for Sport inductee Steve Borthwick, as it was his first competitive fixture as Tigers’ new Head Coach.

Another graduate making headlines during the rugby restart was Sports Performance alumnus Tom Dunn, who scored two tries during Bath Rugby’s impressive 34-17 home victory against London Irish.
