Team Bath turn attention to last home match of BUCS Super Rugby season after a battling defeat at Loughborough

Team Bath men’s 1st XV put up a good battle on their BUCS Super Rugby visit to Loughborough on Wednesday before going down to a 33-7 defeat in blustery conditions.

The Rengen-sponsored visitors were missing a number of forwards through injury but competed well throughout and scored a converted try midway through the first half to notch the opening points of the evening.

Third-placed Loughborough managed to draw level before half-time, though, and forged ahead just after the restart with another converted try. Team Bath dug in but Loughborough scored twice in quick succession just after the hour mark, both converted, to move clear.

Another try in the closing stages increased the margin of defeat for Team Bath, who will be looking to bounce back from a couple of tough losses when they welcome Cardiff Met to the Sports Training Village for the final home match of the regular 2021-22 season. It is taking place on Wednesday 23rd February (6.30pm kick-off) and admission is free.
