University of Bath BUCS Super Rugby players selected by England, Scotland and Wales for U20 Six Nations 2024

Six University of Bath students have been selected to represent England, Scotland and Wales in the U20 Six Nations 2024.

Sports Performance student Billy Sela has been named in England’s starting XV for Friday’s opening fixture in Italy, while course colleague and fellow prop Scott Kirk is among the impact players.

Economics student Ludo Kolade, who is co-captain of the University men’s 1st XV in BUCS Super Rugby, has been named in the Scotland U20 squad along with fellow back Murdoch Lock (Politics and International Relations).

Scotland start their campaign on Friday (6.45pm) against a Wales U20 squad which includes International Development with Economics fresher Ieuan Davies and, for a second successive season, centre Louie Hennessey (Sports Performance).

All the selected players have represented the University men’s 1st XV in BUCS Super Rugby this season and combine study with Academy rugby, Kolade with Harlequins and the others with Bath Rugby.

Meanwhile, University of Bath students Max Ojomoh and Archie Griffin are in contention for their first senior caps after being named in the England and Wales Guinness Six Nations squads respectively.

Business student Ojomoh, who plays for Bath Rugby, has been called up as injury cover ahead of this Saturday’s opening match against Italy in Girona.

Bath Rugby prop Griffin – in his third year of a Sports Performance degree – has, like Ojomoh, represented the University of Bath men’s 1st XV and his excellent form secured a place in the BUCS Super Rugby Team of the Year for the 2022-23 season.

Wales begin their campaign on Saturday 3rd February with a sell-out home fixture against Scotland, whose squad includes Sports and Exercise Science graduate Josh Bayliss. The Bath Rugby forward has five caps for his country.
