Fantastic five all set to combine top-class rugby with first-class education at University of Bath after joining Bath Rugby Academy

Five more exciting young talents will be combining their burgeoning rugby careers with studying at the University of Bath from the 2024-25 season and academic year.

Connor Treacey, Charlie Griffin, Tyler Offiah, Kepu Tuipulotu and Jack Woods have all signed Senior Academy contracts with Bath Rugby.

They will study at the University of Bath, subject to receiving their conditional offers, and will follow in the footsteps of current Bath Rugby 1st XV players such as Max Ojomoh, Orlando Bailey and Sam Harris who have successfully balanced their sporting and academic careers.

All will be eligible to represent the University men’s 1st XV in the national BUCS Super Rugby competition too, providing more invaluable rugby experience as they transition from the junior ranks.

Johann van Graan, Head of Rugby at Bath Rugby, said: “We take great pride in our academy system and the role it plays in nurturing young talent. These signings are a testament to their hard work and also that of the team here at Bath Rugby in identifying them as having the potential to be amongst the next generation of Bath Rugby stars.”

Back-row forward Treacey is a product of Beechen Cliff School in Bath and captained Bath Rugby U18s to their first-ever Premiership Rugby Academy League title this season.

Hooker Tuipulotu and centre/wing Griffin are both making the switch from the London Irish Academy, while versatile back Woods joins from the Dragons Academy in South Wales.

Explosive winger Offiah is the son of rugby league great Martin Offiah and made his England U18 debut during April’s U18 Six Nations Rugby Festival in Italy.
