Student Harvey Cuckson enjoys winning debut with England Rugby U20s in Georgia as World Championship preparations continue
Harvey Cuckson became the latest University of Bath student to represent England Rugby’s men at U20 level when he started their high-scoring victory over Georgia on Saturday.
Cuckson, who combines playing for Bath Rugby Academy with studying Sports Performance, lined up in the second row in Tbilisi for the first England side selected by new Head Coach Mark Mapletoft.
The tourists came out on top 41-36 after an entertaining encounter, with Cuckson playing his part in two driving maul tries.
Cuckson, who has previously represented his country at U19 and U18 level, was part of the Team Bath men’s 1st XV that reached the semi-finals of this year’s BUCS Rugby Championship.
He has once again been named in the starting XV for England’s second match against Georgia on Thursday 1st June.
Cuckson is joined in the touring U20 squad by fellow Team Bath and Bath Rugby player Sam Harris. The tour is part of the side’s preparations for the World Rugby U20 Championship in South Africa, which starts on 24th June.
